Frequently Asked Questions

Digital Membership Cards

Q. What are digital membership cards?
A. Timken Museum of Art began offering digital membership cards, which can be downloaded and saved to your smartphone, beginning in 2024.
Using digital membership cards is more environmentally friendly as it cuts down on paper and plastic waste, and it means you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card at home.
After joining or renewing your membership, you can find instructions on how to download your card on our Membership Page.
Q. How will I use my digital membership card?
A. Your digital membership card is unique to your membership and displays your name, membership level, expiration date and a unique barcode.
Simply show your digital membership card to our staff at the Ticket Desk or Gift Shop to take advantage of your membership benefits!
Q. How do I access my reciprocal benefits with my digital membership card?
A. Reciprocal benefits can be accessed either through the eMembership Card app or through your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
In eMembership Card app:
Select Timken Museum of Art.
On the Timken Museum of Art home screen,
click the button labeled “Membership Benefits.”
Next, click on the button labeled “Reciprocal Benefits.”
This page displays the icons of the reciprocal networks that provide admission to TMA members. Reciprocal Benefits can also be accessed by clicking on the waffle-shaped menu icon in the upper right corner of the TMA home screen. The option labeled “Reciprocals” will be fourth in the menu.
In your smartphone Wallet:
Click on the tree dots on the upper right corner and select “Pass Details.”
Reciprocal networks will be listed at the top.
Q. How will my reciprocal benefits work when visiting other organizations?
A. Digital membership cards display the reciprocal logo(s) - ROAM and/or NARM - and list participation in the reciprocal programs as a benefit of the membership level.
Simply show your digital membership card at participating institutions to receive free or reduced admission. You can also find links to reciprocal lists in the eMembership Card app.
If the reciprocal organization has trouble with the logos on the card being too small, you can simply click on the logos and it will pull up a separate screen that shows the reciprocal networks that are applicable to your membership.
If you have saved your cards to your Google/Apple wallet, you’ll just need to click on the 3 dots in the top right to see a list of your applicable reciprocal networks.
Q. Can I still get a printed membership card?
A. Printed membership cards are available upon request. Please email membership@timkenmuseum.org to request your card.
Q. There is more than one adult named on my membership. How do they access their membership card?
A. All adults named on the membership will be able to download a digital membership card following the same process.
They will need your membership number or phone number to locate the membership card and will be required to show a photo ID at check-in.
 Q. There is an error on my membership card. How can I fix it?
A. Just email us at membership@timkenmuseum.org with the error information and we’ll work on fixing the issue.
